November was a time for the shepherds to gather together in India. Taking advantage of the national Diwali holiday, pastors and their families travelled from around the country to participate in two conferences, our annual Pastor’s Family Conference and the first-ever Koinonia School of Ministry Alumni Conference. Please pray that the Lord would continue to knit our hearts together and unite us to accomplish His purposes, not by might, not by power, but by His Spirit.

Fifteen graduates of KSOM returned to Pune to attend the Alumni Conference. In all, 35 young men and women have graduated, and they are all actively serving the Lord. This was a time of fellowship as the pastors and their young families reunited with college classmates, worshipped the Lord and deepened their knowledge of ministry issues.

The theme of the conference was 2 Timothy 1:6, “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” One of the primary missions of the India Connection ministry is to provide ongoing support of these young harvest workers. Their needs are many as they face challenges of starting ministries, often in remote areas with limited resources. Pastor Joseph visits each of the pastors in their homes and churches every year. He stays with them, preaches in their pulpits, refreshes them in the Word and encourages them in the promises of God.

KSOM Students at the 2013 Pastor’s Conference

We were very impressed with the students at KSOM. The third year students have an excellent command of English so it’s easy to get to know them. They are spiritually mature and highly motivated to do the Lord’s work. It was interesting to watch the way they come alongside the newer students to guide and encourage them. The graduating students all planning to go into ministry; some will get an advanced degree before they start.
