This year marked several milestones in the history of the Koinonia School of Ministry. In April we celebrated the graduation of our eleventh class. It is amazing to see what the Lord has done over the years.  We have learned much, and it has made us better, more focused and directed towards our mission to prepare men and women who will “go and make disciples.”

The Koinonia School of Ministry has grown as an organization, and our faculty and students remain committed to the Vision that has been given to us by our Lord. We are ready for the next phase and excited about where the Lord is leading us.

A New Year,  A New Name

This year we are transitioning our name from Koinonia School of Ministry to Koinonia College of Theology (KCOT).  In India, culturally, the name “School” is associated with grades K through 12.  This confused many prospective students.  We are excited to go forward as Koinonia College of Theology.

We remain dedicated to preparing men and women who have heard the call and exhibit the character to impact the world for Christ. That is what has inspired us since our inception. This mission drives us forward to higher levels of excellence and distinction.  We anticipate that we will achieve complete membership in the Asia Theological Association by the end of 2016. That is the organization that currently accredits all our programs and degrees.

As with any organization, we have and will continue to experience growing pains, but God has blessed this work.  The faculty has done a tremendous work guiding us through this transition, and we are thankful to Dr. Andrew Sargent and John Donnelly for laying the foundation with a great curriculum and mentoring model that has prepared us for growth. We are confident that all the pieces are coming together and we will be even more effective in advancing the Gospel in India.

How You Can Help

We need your prayers and support as we take steps of faith to make the improvements necessary for the continued growth and progress of the school.

  • Please consider supporting a KCOT student scholarship fund.  This enables a student to get a work scholarship and be a full time student.
  • We need to improve our computer systems.  Most of the hardware and software we have is outdated and needs to be replaced.
  • Please also pray for the Faculty.  These men and their families have made a commitment to be at KCOT and continue to help shape the future of the Gospel in India.

KCOT student “practice teaching” in her home village.

India is evolving in its beliefs about the Gospel.  So much of what is taught in Indian institutions and Bible Colleges is “social gospel” and “Indian theology”, which we would call “liberation theology”.

The reason India has seen stunted growth in the proclamation of the Gospel is not because we do not have resources; it is because there is a lack of ownership and leadership that is prepared with the truth of the Gospel.  We are commanded to make disciples and we intend to do that every day and with everything we have to fulfill the Great Commission as mandated by Jesus.

Thank you for being a part of India Connection.  Your prayers and support make it possible for us to take steps of faith and serve our Lord will great passion.  We pray for you continuously, here at home and in India.  May the Lord continue to guide and direct you through the power of the Holy Spirit in your lives with abundance.
