2020 has been a year like no other. Literally everyone around the world has seen unprecedented upset and change in their lives; and for some, it’s been a year of great sadness and loss. Through it all we remember that God is our ever-present help, the strong tower we run into and are safe.

When Covid-19 hit India this spring, the lockdowns were severe and brought to the surface many needs that were not obvious before.  A lot of people lost their jobs and could no longer support their families.  Hunger began to be an issue, both in Pune and in neighborhoods around our churches across the country.

This provided an opportunity for India Connection to serve in ways we had not done before.  We began a nationwide emergency food relief effort that continues today. Thanks to your generosity, we have sent over $30,000 in food aid to date, bringing help and a message of hope to those who need it most.

Moving Forward as the Lord Leads

The Lord goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:8

So much has happened it’s hard to believe it’s been less than a year since the Medical Missions team was in Pune ministering to the critical medical needs of the poor, and Pastor Ray visited Pastors, students and alumni of the Koinonia College of Theology.

KCOT, the Girls Home, Hearts & Hands International School and Koinonia Medical Clinic were all thriving when the pandemic hit and brought India to a halt.  We are happy to report that India is now taking steps to relax the lockdown and begin opening schools, colleges and businesses.

Dr. Shittal Zamre at the Koinonia Medical Clinic had to temporarily close our storefront operation but has continued to serve patients with telehealth advice and help with prescriptions and medications.

KCOT has been offering classes online to full time students since August.  Starting in January we will be able to offer students the choice of online or in person education.

School is back in session for our Girls Home girls as well, starting with the older girls and gradually expanding to all grades. Plans are in place to open Hearts & Hands when the government gives the go-ahead.

We are looking forward to 2021 with great anticipation to see Pune Center full of life again and our Medical Clinic open to serve people who desperately need medical care and compassion.

Know that you have made a tremendous impact on many lives in India by your generous gifts of time and treasure.  India Connection will continue to be flexible and seek the Lord’s will as we prepare ourselves to meet the needs and the needy where they are.

We are excited to report that Pranjali (left) and Rachel (right) will be attending college next year thanks to your contributions to the Girls Home scholarship fund. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Both of these young women are preparing for a career in banking. Their courses start in June.

Our missionaries in America and around the world are praying and are eager to return to India but we don’t know exactly when the Lord will open the door.

Many of us are hoping to attend the consecration ceremony of the new 800-seat Koinonia Fellowship Church of Pune. Work is expected to be completed next year and everyone is invited to the big event. Date and time are TBD.

We are so thankful for all of you! Even though you may have found yourself in difficult situations this year, you were generous to support us to do what God has called us to do in India.  We could not have provided food, care, love, compassion and counsel without you being a big part of this outreach.

We have grown so much and we will continue to grow as we look forward to a New Year filled with opportunities and make a difference in the lives of those who need it the most.  Thank you! Please continue to pray without ceasing, and know that your brothers and sisters in India are praying for you too.

In His Service
